Council Chamber, Second Floor & Zoom
New Westminster City Hall, 511 Royal Avenue

We recognize and respect that New Westminster is on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Halkomelem speaking peoples. We acknowledge that colonialism has made invisible their histories and connections to the land. As a City, we are learning and building relationships with the people whose lands we are on.

Location:
318 Sixth Avenue

Proposal: Heritage Revitalization Agreement (HRA) and Heritage Designation Bylaw applications have been received for 318 Sixth Avenue. The project would protect and restore the existing 1912 Knott House. In exchange, the HRA would allow subdivision and construction of a new ground-oriented infill house with secondary suite (0.65 Floor Space Ratio). The heritage house would be on a 418 sq. m. (4504 sq. ft.) lot and the new infill house would be on a 330 sq. m. (3552 sq. ft.) lot. Smaller lot sizes and higher density for the new infill house are the primary Zoning Bylaw relaxations proposed by the HRA. Several minor siting relaxations are also being requested.

Second Reading: May 5, 2025

  • Recommendation:

    THAT the meeting adjourn.
